Cowboys move up to snare Bryant
The Dallas Cowboys went big in Jerry Jones style, moving up to draft Dez Bryant with the No. 24 overall pick.
The Cowboys moved up several slots, trading with the New England Patriots to slide ahead of the Baltimore Ravens.
Dallas was fearful that Bryant’s free-fall couldn’t possibly last past Baltimore, who wanted a big-time wideout and also is known to take the best player available.
Owner Jerry Jones admitted that the team had their eye on Bryant but didn’t feel he would fall far enough to allow them to trade up.
He said he has no concerns about Bryant’s maturity, citing Michael Irvin’s success with the Cowboys.
